In this short review I will talk about one of my current favourite Korean products, the Ceramidin Day Tint SPF 15 from Dr. Jart+. If you have read some of my previous articles, you probably know already that I love Korean skincare. Every morning and every evening I follow an elaborate skincare routine with multiple different steps. I also love make-up. I don’t feel like I abuse of make-up (raise your hand if you think I do!) so I always try to go for the natural and elegant look. The no-make up look, is somehow trending now and then in the beauty industry and not only in Asia. It is the complex art of creating a make-up look, that is fresh and cute, while giving the impression you have nothing on. Rocking a real rainbow on my face, displaying colors ranging from red and orange to bright purple, I definitely can’t keep my face totally bare (well, unless I want to appear very sick and tired to explain why I stay home binge watch Kdramas rather than going party). Dr. Jart + Ceramidin Day Tint is perfect to create a ‘barelly there’ or an ‘I woke-up like that’ look. But caution here – do not expect much coverage like with a liquid foundation or even BB cream. As the name suggests, this is a tinted cream, a hybrid product closer to skincare than make-up. To go out I would typically follow with a cushion foundation or some powder (or on good days, just concealer).
I really wanted to try the Ceramidin skincare line, but my routine (as well as my product waiting list) was already so long that I didn’t know where to fit another cream. So when I discovered the day tint I was overjoyed! I call it my ‘barrier cream’ or ‘make-up prep’ and I find it does a great job to allow a smooth transition between creams and make-up. Having an elaborated morning skincare routine, I find that it is something hard to apply my cushion foundation on top of all the creams – unless I really wait a long time for all my products to absorb well. But here is the trick – I am a lazy beast, and asking me to wake-up even 10 minutes earlier is a torture. Thanks to the Dr.Jart + day tint applying my make-up became easy. Even though the coverage provided by this cream is barely visible, I find it helps to demising my redness a bit and globally evens my skin tone.
The whole Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Collection, is a ceramide-based moisturizing range. As the producer puts it, “ceramides are essential lipids found in the surface layer of the skin that help maintain the integrity of the skin and retain moisture“. When we age the natural levels of ceramics in our skin diminish, making the skin more vulnerable, sensitive and wrinkle prone. This Dr. Jart+ day tint is formulated with Ceramide that help to retain moisture, as well as Licorice Root Extract and Aloe Vera to soothe skin, Betaine to softens and moisturizes skin as well as Bifida Ferment Lysate to increases the skin’s ability to regenerate. This day tint also contains an SPF 15 to help protect your skin, I find this SPF sufficient on its own for cloudy winter days – and I would add an SPF 50 on top for sunny days. Any SPF, a part of protecting you from the sun, helps to create an anti-pollution barrier, especially important if you live in a larger city.

I like how the Ceramidin Day Tint SPF 15 has a nice sheer tint with yellow undertone (especially desirable if you have an uneven complexion with redness) and gives an extra moisture kick. In the longer term it is supposed to strengthen the skin’s natural protective barrier. The product comes packed in a little tube, which guarantees a mess free application and is easy to travel with. Also the cream doesn’t have a strong smell and is Paraben, Phthalates and Sulfates free.
Globally I really love this product, I would typically wear it as only make-up during lazy Sundays at home with my BF, and it makes me feel instantly prettier! I will give this product a 5 out of 5 Kinbeauty rating, because it delivers on its promises and is a nice product to use.
