I admit, I really grew fond of Ginseng these days. When I run out of my Korean Ginseng supplement I kind of freaked out. I stocked so many Korean cosmetics with Ginseng, that I couldn’t even fit them in a single post. Ginseng is just amazing wherever you put it – would it be in your sheetmask, face cream, body lotion, shampoo or in your soup. My currently favorite products with Ginseng are the illi total aging care body lotion for a ‘Hanbang’ experience, the Jeju Wild Ginseng cream by It’s skin and the DaengGiMeoRi amazing vitalising shampoo.
illi total aging care body lotion
For me the illi total aging care body lotion has the most intoxicating, half sweet half powdery smell. It’s strong and doesn’t lack character, you either love or hate it. I am in the love club. I also appreciate its gel-like consistency that instantly cools down my skin and is so easy to apply. This body lotion has such a light consistency, and yet is so intensely moisturising! And of course the ingredients in this body lotion are very sexy – Ginseng, Camellia oil, Green tea, Natto gum and even Magnolia bark extract is like putting all the Ancient Asian beauty secrets in one bottle. Not surprisingly, illi is a Korean brand specialising in Hanbang, the traditional Korean herbal medicine.
Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Cethylethyl Hexanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Shea Butter, Cyclohexasiloxane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Seed Oil/Hydrogenated Camellia Seed Oil Esters, Natto Gum, Machilus Thunbergii Bark Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-40 Stearate, Polysorbate 20, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Peg-100 Stearate, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Caprylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Dextrine, Peg-240/Hdi Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, Poloxamer 235, Epigallocatechin Gallate, Ethoxydiglycol, Tocophersolan, Poloxamer 338, Disodium EDTA, Perfume
The bottle is very practical and hygienic with its little pump. The price is relatively high, but you get 350 ml of Hanbang goodie in a bottle. I also feel my skin not only didn’t complain, but also was less prone to dryness that is a common problem during the summer days. Only weakness? I would say this lotion feels a bit oily at first and a slightly sticky feeling remains for around 10 min. I use it mainly in the evening so this is not a problem for me. Also, it is a good body lotion but it is not hydrating enough for my extra dry hands, so far for them only the Yu-be cream works (more on my favorite Japanese cosmetics here).
Jeju Wild Ginseng cream by It’s skin
Jeju Wild Ginseng cream from it’s Skin is your perfect night cream. Not too heavy yet not too light, not too sticky, fast absorbing and also so moisturising, this cream has it all. It’s a multipurpose cream that promises to give you a hydrated and firmer skin. The Jeju Wild Ginseng cream has a conservative approach to skincare, no innovation in its consistency or smell. It’s just a classical good old cream type, for the chic lady in us. It is a cream I have personally recommended to friends, who not only love it but have also repurchased it already.
This cream also rocks the Ginseng ingredient, by having it wild and from Jeju, the nature destination in Korea. It’s skin recommends to use this cream after the sheetmask from the same line (reviewed here), but it also works fine on its own. A part of Ginseng, this cream also contains Jojoba oil, and Argan oil for an extra moisture kick, Acai oil for elasticity and Grape fruit extract that is very rich in vitamins.
Water, Panax Ginseng extract, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Dimethicone, Glyceryl stearate, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Cetertearyl alcohol, Cetyl alcohol, Stearic acid, Myristyl myristate, PPEG-75 stearate, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Ceteth-20, Steareth-20, Argania spinosa kernel oil, Ecklonia cava extract, Hizikia fusiforme extract, Codium tomentosum extract, Gelidium cartilagineum extract, Vitis vinifiera (grape) fruit extract, Euterpe oleracea fruit oil, Ethyl hexanediol, Glyceryl caprylate, Carbomer, Xantham gum, Tromethamine, Adenosine, 1 2-Hexanediol, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) extract, fragrance

DaengGiMeoRi Vitalising Energy Shampoo
The DaengGiMeoRi shampoo was my first choice when I was looking for haircare with Ginseng. This shampoo is meant to prevent hair loss be revitalising the scalp. I am very picky when it comes to haircare because my hair is just a natural disaster, and recently even my scalp started to rebel. I have everything – itching scalp, hair loss, greasy roots fast with extra dry thin blonde hair. As I have recently joined the Ginseng fan club, I wanted to try some of it on my scalp as well. And I am glad I did because this shampoo is amazing! Don’t be scared by its dark brown color, or discouraged by its sweet sugary smell, this shampoo will turn make your hair moisturised and glossy. It is a rather delicate shampoo, but I haven’t noticed a big improvement on my scalp condition. But! This shampoo made my blonde hair shiny and healthy looking – and that’s enough to make me love it.
I couldn’t find the complete list of ingredients, but this shampoo contains 33% of herbal extract, that includes Ginseng of course, but also chrysanthemum, mugwort, iris and other Hanbang ingredients.
Where to get it ? I found mine on Koreadepart.com as this ships from Korea – patience is required.
